A few clients have reported that they have observed a high server load caused by the spamd process. This is a known bug within SpamAssassin and mostly affects newer cPanel installs but can affect older ones as well. If you think your spamd process is causing a high server load, login to your server as root via SSH and run the following commands:
Fix the spamd databases error with /scripts/autorepair spamd_dbm_fix
Restart exim with /etc/init.d/exim restart
That should fix the spamd process from spiraling out of control, your server load should return to normal levels within a few minutes.
