Mean Servers sets a maximum prefix limit on all downstream BGP sessions. These limits are hard and set per BGP session, hitting them will result in the BGP session being torn down for 5 minutes. To prevent BGP sessions from teardown, ensure you do not exceed these limits. The maximum prefix limit depends on the service type you have with Mean Servers. If you require a high prefix limit than the one initially assigned, we recommend aggregating the prefixes you announce to us. If aggregation is not possible, please open a support ticket. We can increase maximum prefix limits on a case-by-case basis with good reason, a fee may apply.
